Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Runs App and participation in all events, games, and services provided by RUNS APP LLC ("Runs," "we," "our," or "us"). By creating an account, using the app, or participating in any Runs activity, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older to create an account and participate in Runs events. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity associated with your account. You agree not to share or sell your account or use another user's account without permission.

3. Code of Conduct

Runs is a respectful, community-driven platform. By participating, you agree to:

-Show up on time to all scheduled games

-Treat all players, staff, and facilities with respect

-Refrain from violence, harassment, or unsportsmanlike conduct

-Follow all instructions provided by Runs or event organizers.

You agree not to:

-Use another user's account without permission

-Engage in fraud, chargebacks, abuse of rewards, or manipulation of ratings, votes, or promotions

-Upload harmful code, attempt to disrupt the platform, scrape the app, or reverse engineer the service

-Use Runs for unlawful, misleading, or unauthorized commercial purposes

Failure to follow this code may result in temporary suspension or permanent removal from the platform.

4. User Content

You are responsible for any content you submit through Runs, including profile information, usernames, messages, images, and other materials. You agree not to post content that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, misleading, infringing, or otherwise violates these Terms.

By submitting content through Runs, you grant Runs a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and use that content solely as needed to operate, improve, and promote the app and related services.

5. Refund and Cancellation Policy

5.1. Pickup Games

Refunds or returns are based on how far in advance a cancellation is made and how the booking was paid for.

Timing Refund/Return
24+ hours before game time Full refund to your original payment method whether you paid with a credit card, Runs Balance, or Runs Credits.

- Runs Credits are returned for reuse.
- Runs Balance payments return to your Runs Balance.
5–24 hours before game time Refund to your Runs Wallet ONLY for future use whether you paid with Runs Balance, or Runs Credits.

- Runs Credits are returned for reuse.
Within 5 hours of game time No refund or return, except for documented emergencies.
No-shows No refund or return. No-shows may result in a fee of up to $5.
Cancellations by Runs If Runs cancels a game (weather, low participation, or facility issue), players receive a full refund to their original payment method or Runs Wallet automatically.

5.2. Tournaments

Tournament entries are subject to specific refund rules due to registration deadlines and competitive integrity.

Timing Refund/Return
Before registration deadline Full refunds for complete team cancellations will be issued to the original payment method.

Partial changes (including guest removals or players leaving a team individually, even before the registration deadline) are refunded to Runs Balance.
After registration deadline (rosters locked) No refunds. Players and teams are committed once registration closes or brackets are generated.
No-shows or Disqualification No refund.
Cancellations by Runs If Runs cancels a tournament (weather, low participation, or facility issue), players receive a full refund to their original payment method.

Team & Tournament Cancellations:

If a team is cancelled by the captain, all players will be refunded according to the tournament refund rules outlined above. Team captains cannot remove players who have already paid. Players may leave a team voluntarily, subject to the applicable refund policy.

Captains may remove guest players they have added to a team. Any payments made for guest players will be refunded according to the tournament refund rules outlined above.

Emergencies:

If an emergency prevents you from attending any event, contact Runs Support as soon as you're able to. We understand that some situations are out of your control and may make it impossible to cancel beforehand. Runs reviews emergency cases individually and will make every effort to provide a fair resolution (refund, credit, or accommodation).

6. Runs Balance & Credits

Runs Balance

Your Runs Balance holds funds you can use toward games, tournaments, or other features. You may add cash to your Runs Balance at any time. Once funds are added or transferred into your Runs Balance, they cannot be withdrawn, transferred, or converted back to cash. Funds in your Runs Balance do not expire but can only be used within the Runs platform.

Runs Credits

Runs Credits are earned exclusively through the Battle Pass and can be used to join any game, regardless of price. Credits cannot be purchased, sold, transferred, or withdrawn. If you cancel a booking made with a Runs Credit 5+ hours before game time, that credit is returned to your account. If canceled within 5 hours of game time, the credit is forfeited. Credits do not expire but are only redeemable for participation in Runs events.

7. Safety and Risk

Participation in recreational sports involves inherent risks. By participating, you agree to accept all risks of injury, illness, or damage and understand that Runs is not liable for injuries or losses that occur during play.

8. Media Use

By attending Runs events, you consent to the use of photos or video taken during events for promotional purposes, unless you notify Runs in writing.

9. Termination

Runs may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, misuse of the platform, payment disputes, fraud, chargebacks, or conduct deemed harmful to the community.

10. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time by:

-Using the "Delete My Account" feature within the app settings, or

-Contacting us at info@runsapp.run

Upon deletion, your profile, stats, and user-generated content will be permanently removed or anonymized. Certain information may be retained as required by law, for fraud prevention, or to enforce these Terms. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Runs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of data, profits, or participation opportunities, arising from your use of the app or participation in events. In no event shall Runs' total liability exceed the amount paid by you to Runs in the 12 months prior to the claim.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Runs app and services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.

13. Force Majeure

Runs is not responsible for delays, interruptions, failures in performance, or cancellations caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including weather, facility issues, internet or service outages, labor disruptions, government actions, or acts of God.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Runs from any claims, damages, or disputes arising from your use of the app, participation in events, or violation of these Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict of law principles.

16. Changes to Terms

Runs reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the app and services constitutes your agreement to any revised Terms.

17. Rewards, Promotions & Incentives

Runs may offer rewards, promotions, performance incentives, Battle Pass rewards, merchandise, digital credits, or other benefits tied to ratings, milestones, participation, referrals, seasonal programs, or special events.

17.1. General Conditions

All rewards and promotional incentives:

-Are promotional in nature and have no cash value unless explicitly stated

-Are non-transferable and may not be sold or exchanged

-Are subject to account eligibility and good standing

-May require verification or approval before issuance

-Must be claimed within the timeframe specified in the app

-May be modified, substituted, suspended, or discontinued at any time at Runs' discretion

Runs reserves the right to deny, revoke, or withhold rewards in cases of fraud, abuse, chargebacks, payment disputes, vote manipulation, collusion, or violation of platform rules.

17.2 Reward Types & Fulfillment

Rewards may include digital items (XP, badges, access), physical items (such as merchandise or gear), or promo codes redeemable in the Runs Shop. Physical rewards may be fulfilled directly, through approved partners, or via reimbursement with valid proof of purchase. All rewards are subject to availability and may be substituted with items of equal value.

17.3 Performance & Tournament Rewards

Certain rewards are tied to performance metrics (including rating milestones or leaderboard placement). Eligibility and reward amounts are determined by rules displayed in the app at the time of achievement. Tournament rewards are based on skill and performance, not chance. Runs does not offer gambling or games of chance. Runs reserves the right to verify results, data, and eligibility before confirming winners.

17.4 Tax Compliance

Users are responsible for any applicable taxes related to rewards. If a user receives cumulative rewards exceeding $600 USD in a calendar year, Runs may require submission of a completed IRS Form W-9 before issuing additional rewards. Runs will issue a Form 1099 as required by law.

17.5 Advertising

Runs may display advertisements within the app, including optional rewarded ads. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party advertisers.

18. Privacy Policy

Runs collects and uses your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy. By using Runs, you consent to our data collection and use practices.

19. Data Collection

Runs collects limited information necessary to operate the app, including account details, usage data, approximate location, device information, and payment-related data (processed securely by Stripe).

20. Open Source Software

Runs may use open source software components. Where required, licenses and attributions will be made available within the app or upon request.

21. Third-Party Services

Runs uses third-party services to support app functionality, analytics, advertising, authentication, and payment processing, including Firebase (Google LLC), Google Play Services, Google AdMob, Stripe, Apple Sign-In, and Google Sign-In.

These services operate under their own terms, conditions, and privacy policies. Runs is not responsible for the content, practices, or availability of third-party services.
